Thymus x citriodorus 'Argenteus' - Silver Edged Lemon Thyme

Silver Edged Lemon Thyme is a culinary evergreen shrub grown for its dense lemon scented and flavored grey-green foliage with silver edges.  Its stems are thin yet woody, cut back in early spring to encourage new growth.   Fragrant bright purple flowers bloom in summer attracting butterflies.  Grows best in full sun and well-drained soil.  Silver Edged Lemon Thyme is tolerant of light foot traffic and drought.

Lemon Thyme's leaves can be used as an antiseptic and disinfectant.  Essential oils from the leaves are less of an irritant than other Thymes and is often used for aromatherapy for asthma and other respiratory issues.*
