Solidago bicolor - Silverrod

Silverrod is a native herbaceous perennial with a narrow upright habit and eliptical foliage along the stems.  The raceme of tiny yellowish-white flowers bloom from late summer into fall, which are highly attractive to pollinators.  Grows best with full sun and poor dry soils.  Grows well in heavy clay soils. 

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance.  Rust may occur.  Watch for powdery mildew and leaf spot.  Can be an aggressive spreader in optimum conditions.

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Naturalized Areas, Wildlife Garden, Rock Gardens, Native Gardens, and Containers.
